Assistant Professor
Md. Rakib Hossain is an accomplished academic and a visionary researcher, currently holding the esteemed position of Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering (ETE) at Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) in Rajshahi, Bangladesh. His academic journey and contributions to research have established him as a prominent figure in the field of technology and engineering.
Mr. Hossain's academic career began with his tenure as a Lecturer in the Department of Information and Communication Engineering (ICE) at the Bangladesh Army University of Engineering and Technology (BAUET), Natore, from 2018 to 2019. His passion for teaching and research continued to flourish when he joined the Department of ETE at RUET as a Lecturer from 2019 to 2021.
His academic qualifications underscore his commitment to excellence. He holds an M.Sc. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) from RUET and a B.Sc. in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering (ETE) from the same institution.
Mr. Hossain's academic journey has been marked by several notable accolades. In 2017, he received the prestigious President's Gold Medal, recognizing his exceptional achievement as the First Class First in his undergraduate class. His outstanding performance was further acknowledged by the ETE Association at RUET, which honored him with three consecutive Student of the Year awards in 2015, 2016, and 2017 for securing the top position in his undergraduate class.
His research interests span a wide spectrum of cutting-edge technology areas, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Deep Learning, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Computer Graphics and Human-Computer Interaction (CGH), 9D image analysis, Encryption Algorithms, and Digital Image Processing. These interests reflect his dedication to advancing the boundaries of knowledge and technology.
Mr. Hossain's leadership in research projects is noteworthy. He currently serves as the director of the project titled "Multi-Algorithmic Deep Learning Approaches for Precise Leaf Disease Classification and Visual Interpretation," which is financed by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and RUET. He has previously led significant projects, such as "The Design & Implementation of AI-Based Smart Notice Board" from 2020 to 2021 and "Bengali Voice Command Recognition Model Training & Implementation" from 2021 to 2022, all of which received financial support from UGC and RUET.
Md. Rakib Hossain's academic journey is a testament to his unwavering commitment to academic excellence and his pursuit of cutting-edge research. His academic achievements, awards, and dynamic contributions to research projects showcase his potential for further significant contributions to the fields of technology and engineering. As an Assistant Professor at RUET, he continues to inspire and lead in the academic and research community.
