Electronics Laboratory

In this lab, students become familiar with the basic electronic devices, transformers, power supplies, function generators, oscilloscopes, digital electronic trainer, circuit fabrication equipments, and soldering stations. The students can do basic electrical and electronic measurements using digital multi-meters, LCR meter, wattmeter, etc. They also learn how the basic electronics components such as resistors, capacitors, inductors, diodes, transistors, power semiconductors devices, Timer, and Op-Amps work. Upon completion of this laboratory works, students should be able to design, assemble, and use basic electronics circuits and have the skills necessary to measure and characterize their properties.

Communication Laboratory

The communication laboratory consists of different analog and digital communication trainers, wireless communication trainers, mobile trainer, Telephone trainer, PABX trainers for doing experiment and research by both the undergraduate and postgraduate students. Analog communication trainers deal with different analog modulation and demodulation schemes. In contrast, digital communication trainers deal with the principles and theory of digital communication, i.e., signal space, digital modulation and demodulation, bit error rate analysis, frame synchronization, symbol synchronization, familiarization with multiplexing and demultiplexing techniques and constellation diagrams. This laboratory also equipped with telecommunication trainer and mobile communication trainers.

Equipment:

Digital Communication Trainer, Digital modulation trainers: BPSK/DPSK/QPSK/GMSK, Analog Communication system trainer, Analog modulation trainers: AM/FM/PM, FM/AM Transmitter/Receiver, Multiplexer and Demultiplexer, PCM/ADM/DM trainers,  Telephone set trainer, telephone exchange trainer, telephone switching  trainer, PABX trainer, Mobile Communication Trainer, signal generators, power supply, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, multimeters, etc.

Digital Signal Processing Laboratory

This laboratory provides a practical knowledge of digital signal processing (DSP) including discrete-time linear systems, filtering, sampling, and discrete-time Fourier analysis. In this Lab., MATLAB is used for a computer-based DSP laboratory course. By the end of this course, students should be able to analyze discrete-time systems by examining their input and output signals, compute a system output in either time or frequency domain concept. This also helpful to introduce the students about the discrete-time signal, continuous-time signal, the conditions for perfect reconstruction, understand the difference between discrete-time signals and digital signals and the practical considerations, design good digital filters. Students can also visualize the Fourier transform, Fourier series, Discrete Fourier transform, Z-transform, fast way to compute the Discrete Fourier transform, analyze the spectrum of real and imaginary signals by using numerical simulation in MATLAB.

Equipments

High configuration computers, Digital signal processing trainer, MATLAB Software, LAB View Simulation Software, Code Block, Turbo C.

Computer Laboratory

In this laboratory, students get the opportunity to apply the theoretical knowledge they acquired in their various courses to real hardware and software. Students uses this lab for conducing various simulation based laboratory works including electrical and electronic circuit simulation, VLSI design, wireless network simulation, etc. Computer programming and coding are also performed here. This lab is also equipped with networking devices. So computer networking experiment are performed here. This lab also have microprocessor and interfacing kits. The students write code in assembly language to develop a strong understanding the fundamental operations of microprocessor and microcontroller.

Equipments

High configuration laptops, Microprocessor and interfacing kits, Computer networking devices and cables including Hub, switches, Routers, etc.

Antennas and Propagations Laboratory

This lab familiarizes the students with design, measurement techniques and characterizations of microwave components and devices using spectrum analyzers and some computer software. After basic calibration procedures the students should be able to design microwave circuits including attenuators, filters and impedance matching circuits. The students also observe performances of different types of antennas. After acquiring enough knowledge each student has to design an antenna using software and fabricates them. The measured results of those antennas are compared with simulation data. This lab is also equipped with fiber optic trainer kit which is used to measure and characterize various parameters of a fiber optic cable. Satellite communication trainer kits are also available here to perform various experiments. Students can do experiment with TV trainer kits.
